Jasper sat at the cash register in the coffee shop, his little girl sitting on the counter coloring in a small drawing book full of princesses. He worked on a fixing a customer their drink while she colored. He would have dropped her off at daycare but the women who looked after Emma had become increasingly rude to.They always looked down at him and he hated it. So what if he was a young father? What was it to her? So he just kept Emma with him at the coffee shop for now until he could find a new daycare service.
The little three year old didn’t mind though. She loved being around her dad and loved the little shop. She climbed off the counter carefully when Jasper wasn’t looking and rushed off somewhere into the shop. She stumbled into someone, “Uh oh” She giggled as she landed on her bottom. Jasper followed soon after, stumbling over his words. “I’m so— So sorry,” he stammered, “I didn’t realize she had wandered off.”
“What’s happening with my laptop?” she talked to herself as she pressed the restart button. It’s just a day when Bambi wanted to spend time with herself at her favorite coffee shop downtown. She was sitting by the window alone, with her laptop opened and a cup of black coffee next to it. She actually didn’t need her laptop at the moment but she was a little bit pissed that it kept crashing. “Maybe I should buy a new one” she sighed to herself.
A 3 year old girl caught her attention as she stumbled into her. She gave her a wide smile, trying not to scare her. “Hey there little kid” she greeted her as she extended her hand, “I’m Bambi, what’s your name?” but before she gets to know the little girl, a young man appeared. He looked too young to be a father, and too old to be her brother, so maybe her uncle? “Hey, yeah, it’s alright” she pulled her hand back from the little girl and smiled at the guy.
