Elijah knew he was late, and he knew he would get a reminder he was late as soon as he arrived. However what he was doing was important, important to protect Bambi and important for many other reasons. He wanted nothing more than to see Bambi after all she was like a little sister to him but his prior engagements had him tied up indefinitely. Once he finished up with what he needed to do and got what he had needed he made his way to Bambi’s school (he was supposed to walk her home). He made it to the school to see a disgruntled Bambi walking away from the school. He ran and caught up with her ready to apologize.  “I’m sorry I’m late Bambi, I’m afraid I was a bit tied up.” You could say that again. “I promise next time I will be here on time. You know I’d never forget you right?” He gave her a small smile matching her steps as they walked.

Bambi moved her hands to her hoodie jacket, shivering from the cold. The voice of Elijah reached her from behind, she somehow knew that he wouldn’t ditch her easily. “Hey” she greeted Elijah who was walking next to her, with a small smile on her face. “It’s alright, it’s just 34 minutes without a single text or a call” she said in sarcasm, glancing at him. Bambi pursed her lips together, as she shrugged her shoulders slightly, she wanted to ask the reason why he’s late, but she held it inside her, wanting to give him a silence treatment for a while, tho she knew she couldn’t last for more than 5 minutes.
