Bambi didn’t even give a single glance when the door was opened. She kept trying to find the velvet underground vinyl. She sighed heavily as she moved to another booth and bumped someone. Her eyes were locked on him, she felt like she had met him before somewhere but she couldn’t remember. Then she realized that she had seen him on TV before, but that didn’t satisfy her, she knew somehow that they had met before.
“It’s alright” she gave him a sweet smile, as she was trying to remember who the guy was.
Bambi walked to another booth as she grabbed a hair band from her pocket then tied her hair up, showing the scar on her neck that she got when she was a kid. The scar that she wanted to get rid off, the scar full of painful memories.
“I’m sorry, Bambi” Bryan said as he got out from his office, “what did you say again? TVU?” he grabbed the vinyl and handed it to her, “one and only”
Bambi smiled widely at him as she took the vinyl, “thank you, Bryan” she put it next to the turntable, and looked for the other albums. She glanced to the guy that bumped her earlier, learning his form. “Come on, try to remember” she whispered to herself.
When the female accepted his apology, he nodded giving her a crooked smile, before going back to the booth he’d invaded. He took some of them up, looked at them and returned them to their place, not being very satisfied with the selections in the store. He had a lot of them, he’d already glanced upon, but he searched deeper to get the older editions, that he always had borrowed from his grandpa as a kid. Thinking of his grandpa, he stopped his searching and a weak melody rushed to his head. What was it again? He allowed his hips to follow the melody, but it didn’t really give any response, since it was many years ago he’d heard it last. He glanced at the girl he previously bumped into and as when he noticed the scar on her neck he dropped what he had in his hands - fortunately it wasn’t further than to the booth, where he had his arms rested anyway - and walked right over to the brownhaired female. He watched her a bit, before putting 2 fingers on her arm to get her attention. ✯ —- ”You would never break the chain” he said. It was a quote from the song he couldn’t remember. Not until now. One of his most admired artist: Fleetwood Mac. He could be mistaken, but if she didn’t respond, then he would know. He had nothing to do in that record store anyway.
The song was playing at the store was the song that the crews used to listen on the boat. Making her memories came back again. She remembered those days when her mother would take her to go sailing with her father, and took care of her on the boat. The she remembered a childhood friend of hers, Thomas, who were 5 years older than her. She had a huge crush on him that she would have followed him everywhere. Then again, the accident happened, her father kept her away from the boat as much as possible.
She felt his fingers touched her sking, they were so soft that she glanced at him. She furrowed her eyebrows, listening to the words he quoted, he said it differently, he said in on purpose, he said it because he knew it was her. Bambi stared at him, didn’t know what to say, Thomas, was it really him? That couldn’t be him. She was having a huge denial but there he was, standing in front of him. “damn your love, damn your lies” the lyrics came out from her lips slowly.
